Everything you need to know about the Polymarket Smart Money Index, our data warehouse, and copy trading.
What is this dashboard?
This is Polycopy's proprietary Polymarket Smart Money Index (PSMI) Tracker. It draws from our data warehouse — which continuously tracks and analyzes 0 of the top Polymarket wallets — to surface where the sharpest bettors are putting their money, which niches are heating up, and whether smart money is active or sitting on the sidelines. Wallets are added to our warehouse automatically as they appear on Polymarket's leaderboard across multiple views (all-time P&L, volume, monthly, weekly, and daily rankings).
How is the Polymarket Smart Money Index (PSMI) calculated?
The PSMI is a composite 0–100 score built from four signals derived from our proprietary data warehouse: Trader Momentum (are top traders' profits accelerating vs their 30-day average?), Trade Velocity (are big trades happening faster than usual?), Quality (what percentage of top 100 traders are profitable this week?), and Conviction (are recent large trades mostly buys or sells?). Click the PSMI box to see each component's current value and what each status level means.
What does "WATCHING" / "ACTIVE" / "SURGING" mean?
These are status labels for the PSMI. QUIET (0–30) means top traders are inactive. WATCHING (30–60) means moderate activity — smart money is evaluating. ACTIVE (60–80) means strong engagement and confident trading. SURGING (80–100) is rare and means maximum activity with accelerating profits across top wallets.
Where does the data come from?
All trader performance data (P&L, ROI, win rates, niche classifications, hedge metrics) comes from Polycopy's proprietary data warehouse. We track every wallet that enters Polymarket's leaderboard — syncing rankings from multiple views every 3 hours. The live trade ticker pulls from Polymarket's public trade stream, filtered for significant trades. Niche performance data represents activity from our tracked wallets, not all Polymarket users.
How often is the data updated?
The PSMI recalculates every 5 minutes. Trader leaderboards and niche data refresh from our data warehouse every 30 minutes. The live trade ticker streams recent large trades from the past 6 hours. The leaderboard wallet sync runs every 3 hours to discover new wallets.
What does "Profit Rate" mean?
Profit Rate is the percentage of all wallets tracked in our data warehouse (with 5+ trades) that are currently net-profitable. This gives a quick read on market conditions for the most active Polymarket traders.
Can I copy these top traders automatically?
Yes — that's what Polycopy was built for. Sign up, connect your Polymarket wallet, and select traders from the leaderboard to follow. Polycopy automatically mirrors their trades in real time.
What is the "Trending Niches" section showing?
Trending Niches ranks market categories by trade volume from wallets tracked in our data warehouse. It reveals where tracked top traders are concentrating their activity and which niches are generating the most profit.
How do you identify "risk-off" or hedging traders?
We analyze real hedge data from our data warehouse. Each trader's hedge percentage represents the proportion of markets where they hold positions on both sides (a hedging strategy). We also track sell percentage — the ratio of sell orders to total orders. High hedge + high sell = a trader actively reducing risk.
What does the "Momentum Leaders" section show?
Momentum Leaders highlights traders with the highest P&L over the last 7 days. These are the traders making the most money right now — a signal they may be on a winning streak or have identified a profitable opportunity.
What does "Avg Win Rate" measure?
Avg Win Rate is the mean win rate across all tracked wallets with 5+ trades in our data warehouse. An average above 55% across thousands of high-performing wallets indicates sustained skill.
How is this different from the Polymarket leaderboard?
Polymarket's native leaderboard shows basic rankings. The PSMI Tracker adds proprietary intelligence: the composite PSMI index, niche-level performance breakdowns, real hedge data, momentum indicators, risk-off detection, and per-category trader analysis. It answers "what is smart money doing RIGHT NOW?"
