The 5 prediction market apps worth knowing about

#1

Polymarket

Best overall · Largest by volume · Global · Crypto-native

Strengths

  • • $100M+ monthly trading volume — by far the largest
  • • 1000+ active markets across politics, sports, crypto, geopolitics
  • • On-chain settlement (Polygon, USDC) — every trade is publicly verifiable
  • • No platform fees (only network gas, ~$0.01 per trade)
  • • Mobile-optimized web app at polymarket.com
  • • UMA oracle resolution with public dispute window

Weaknesses

  • • Geo-blocked from US, France, and several other jurisdictions
  • • Crypto-only deposits (USDC on Polygon) — no bank rails
  • • No native iOS or Android app (web only)
  • • Resolution disputes occasionally controversial (e.g., Ukraine peace deal)

Best for: Anyone outside the US who wants the deepest, most liquid prediction market with the broadest selection. If you're comfortable holding USDC on Polygon, this is the platform. Pair it with Polycopy for trader leaderboards and copy trading.

#2

Polycopy

Best companion app for Polymarket · Copy trading layer · Global

Strengths

  • • Ranks 500K+ Polymarket wallets by verified, on-chain P&L
  • • Proprietary Copy Score filters out luck and short-term variance
  • • Auto Copy bots mirror specific traders 24/7 with your own risk rules
  • • Free leaderboards; Premium ($20/mo) for Auto Copy
  • • Mobile-friendly web app — no install required
  • Live leaderboard updated continuously

Weaknesses

  • • Only supports Polymarket (no Kalshi / Manifold copy trading yet)
  • • Auto Copy requires Premium subscription
  • • Trade execution still happens on Polymarket — Polycopy does not custody funds

Best for: Anyone trading on Polymarket who wants to follow proven traders instead of guessing alone. The Copy Score filter does the work of picking traders who are consistently profitable rather than lucky on one big bet. See how copy trading works.

#3

Kalshi

Best for US users · CFTC-regulated · USD cash · Native iOS/Android

Strengths

  • • Fully CFTC-regulated US prediction market
  • • USD bank deposits and withdrawals
  • • Native iOS and Android apps
  • • Strong sports event contracts (NFL, NBA, college sports) since 2024
  • • Built-in 1099 tax reporting

Weaknesses

  • • 7% fee on winnings — significantly higher than Polymarket
  • • 5-10x lower liquidity than Polymarket overall
  • • Smaller market selection (CFTC-approved categories only)
  • • US-only (geo-blocked internationally)
  • • No public trader-performance data — copy trading not possible

Best for: US users who want regulated prediction markets in USD without touching crypto. Pick Kalshi if you (1) live in the US, (2) want CFTC oversight, (3) need 1099 forms for taxes, or (4) prefer a native mobile app. Read our full Kalshi vs Polymarket comparison.

#4

Manifold Markets

Best for learning · Play money (Mana) + cash-prize sweepstakes · Global

Strengths

  • • Free to use — Mana has no direct cash value
  • • 10,000+ markets, anyone can create one
  • • Excellent for learning how prediction markets work
  • • Native iOS and Android apps
  • • Cash-prize “sweepstakes” markets added recently

Weaknesses

  • • Most markets are play-money only — no real profit
  • • Many low-volume / low-quality user-created markets
  • • Less serious participants than Polymarket or Kalshi
  • • Cash-prize markets are still a small slice of the platform

Best for: Beginners who want to learn how prediction markets work without risking real money. Practice for a few weeks on Manifold, then graduate to Kalshi (US) or Polymarket (global) when you're ready to put real money down.

#5

PredictIt

Niche · US political markets · Position cap · Operating status varies

Strengths

  • • Long operating history (since 2014)
  • • Available to US users
  • • Unique academic-research-driven political markets

Weaknesses

  • • 10% fee on profits + 5% withdrawal fee — highest of any major platform
  • • $850 max position per market — severely limits serious trading
  • • Very low liquidity (~$5M monthly)
  • • Operating status has been contested since CFTC withdrew no-action relief

Best for: US political junkies with small bankrolls who want academic-style markets. Hard to recommend for serious or active trading given the position cap and fees.

How we picked

We're Polycopy — a copy-trading layer on top of Polymarket. We have an obvious bias toward Polymarket (it's the only platform Polycopy currently supports), but our team uses Kalshi, Manifold, and PredictIt regularly to research markets, compare prices, and stress-test our own product. This page reflects which app we'd actually recommend a friend, by use case.

For each platform, we evaluated:

  • Liquidity: can you actually fill a meaningful position without slippage?
  • Market selection: politics, sports, crypto, finance — how much breadth?
  • Fees: what does it cost you on a winning trade end-to-end?
  • Geography: can you legally use it where you live?
  • App quality: mobile experience, native vs. web, reliability.
  • Tooling: trader data, leaderboards, APIs, copy trading.
