Pause vs Stop: Managing Auto Copy Bot Status
Difference between Pause and Stop on Polycopy Auto Copy bots. When to resume vs when you must create a new bot.
Running (active)
A running bot is active, not paused, and not stopped. It monitors the trader and places new copies when signals pass your rules and execution succeeds.
Pause — temporary
Pause stops new copies while keeping the bot active. Open positions stay open. Click Resume in Manage to copy new trades again. Trades the trader made while paused are not copied retroactively. Status may show Paused.
Stop — permanent for this bot
Stop deactivates the bot permanently. Status shows Off with text that the bot will not trade. You cannot Resume a stopped bot. To copy that trader again, create a new Auto Copy bot with fresh settings.
Do not confuse Pause with Stop
If you clicked Stop thinking it was a break, the bot will not come back with Resume. Create a new bot instead. Use Pause when you want to return later without reconfiguring.
Edit rules on paused bots
You can still open Manage and edit rules on a paused bot. Changes apply to future copies after you Resume. Stopped bots should be replaced with a new bot if you want to copy again.
