Troubleshooting: Auto Copy Bot Not Copying
Why your Polycopy Auto Copy bot may not place trades: paused vs stopped, strict filters, low balance, execution rejects, and how to fix each.
Check bot status first
On Copied Bots or Manage: Running = should copy new qualifying trades. Paused = no new copies until Resume. Stopped / Off = will not trade — create a new bot for that trader.
Review filters
High Copy Score floor, single-category filters, min conviction, min win rate, or max resolution days set to 0 can block all trades. Try Copy Score 0 and clear optional filters in Advanced. Compare to No filter preset defaults.
Check wallet balance
Your connected Polymarket wallet needs enough USDC for at least min per trade ($2) per attempted copy, plus headroom for multiple positions. Low balance can pause copying platform-wide.
Check caps
Max per trade or daily budget set too low can prevent expected sizes or stop daily copying. Total capital allocated to the bot must cover open positions and new orders.
Execution rejects
The bot may have tried and failed: drift chase (price moved), slippage, market not accepting orders, or insufficient cash at execution time. Review the bot's trade / order history in the app for rejection reasons.
When copying used to work
If copies stopped after you clicked Stop, that bot will not restart — create a new bot. If you only Paused, Resume. If you created a new bot with stricter filters, loosen Advanced settings or compare to a bot that was trading.
Wallet can't trade (system-paused)
If you see "wallet can't trade," the system detected a wallet issue and paused your bot automatically. Common causes: no funds in your Polymarket wallet (deposit at polymarket.com), wallet setup incomplete (reconnect in Settings), or a key/address mismatch (disconnect and reconnect). The system re-checks every hour and will auto-resume your bot once the issue clears. Bots you manually paused are never auto-resumed.
