Why a Bot Stops Copying on Its Own

The reasons a Polycopy Auto Copy bot pauses without you touching it: the loss circuit breaker, low spendable pUSD, a Premium lapse, a Paper run ending, or being fully invested.

Last updated August 21, 2026

A bot that stops on its own has almost always been paused by a protection, not broken. The usual causes are the loss circuit breaker, low spendable cash, a lapsed Premium subscription, a Paper bot reaching the end of its run, or a bot that is simply fully invested. Each behaves differently, and most resolve themselves.

The loss circuit breaker

Every bot carries a circuit breaker on realised losses. When the money actually lost on closed and resolved copies reaches the threshold, the bot pauses so a losing run cannot quietly work through your whole budget. The threshold is 50% of the bot's capital on the managed presets and 30% on Custom and Mirror bots. Open positions that are merely down do not trip it. A position has to close or resolve at a loss to count.

Low spendable cash

If your Polymarket account runs low on spendable pUSD, the system pauses your Real Trading bots rather than letting orders fail one by one. It re-checks about every 30 minutes and resumes the bots automatically once funds are back. Adding funds or selling a position is all it takes.

A Premium lapse

Real Trading bots require an active Premium subscription. If Premium ends after a cancellation or a failed payment, those bots pause until it is active again.

Paper bots end on schedule

Paper Trading bots run for a set length and end when that run is over. That is the design, not a fault. Review the results, then start a new Paper run or a Real Trading bot when you are ready.

Fully invested is a pause, not a stop

A bot that has placed its whole capital into open positions pauses placement because there is nothing left to place with. As positions resolve and cash comes back, copying resumes on its own.
